In 1883, John Dunn commenced business as a Monumental Mason on Brisbane Street in Launceston in a yard where the Post Office now stands.
In 1909 the business moved to 209 Brisbane Street and in 1983 to the present site at what is now Westbury Road, Launceston.
Today, the factory is operated by the fourth generation of the Dunn family.
The state’s largest and most technically advanced factory, processing the widest selection of quality stone materials, with the best possible service, and the level of craftsmanship people have come to expect from Dunn Stone Industries.

We are never too busy for a phone call or a visit. We don’t shy away from a conversation.
Since our approach is non-commodified, we typically get people into the business. Whether it’s a grave monument that needs fixing, a kitchen bench neeing repaired or a new purchase, it’s very difficult to do justice to the customer without seeing their exact issue and letting them see our actual options (as we have them all here on site).
Having been here since 1883, with John’s 50+ years of personal experience, we are not here for the short term. We want you to be happy and satified and view us as long term partners.
We have your best interests at heart and will not do something we know won’t work for you.
